About 80% of those
who collect the Dallas Cowboys memorabilia simply
are in it for fun as a hobby. The majority start
out by either collecting autographs or trading cards.
Specific popular collecting categories listing on
this site are: audio and video, bobble heads, books,
bottles, cans, coins, cups and mugs, drinking glasses,
footballs, helmets, lighters, magazines, pennants,
and trading cards. There are many other categories
including: autographs, banks, bottle caps, buttons
and pins, cereal boxes, die-cast, jerseys, pens
and pencils, plates, posters, stickers, ticket stubs
and more. Fans are willing to obtain almost any
type of item as long as it has the Dallas Cowboys
logo or player or game reference. Several Categories
of collecting specific items such as just Dallas
Cowboys merchandise has grown to specific types
of collectors.
Collectors who have
a complete collection of specific type category
and then strive to obtain another complete collection
from another specific category are known amongst
collectors as completists. Completists can take
decades of time and spend large amounts of money
working on their collection. Completists are top
notch collectors who will have extremely limited
items and even extras of items while trying to obtain
a more perfect item. Completists represent about
15% of the Dallas Cowboys collectors.
Only about 5% have
seriously obtained complete collections with multiple
categories being complete and with items that are
in near perfect or perfect condition. These collections
can take a lifetime to obtain and are extremely
large with thousands of items in the collection.
Owners of these collections are the Dallas Cowboys
Super Collectors.
I welcome any Dallas
Cowboys collector to send in pictures and a description
of their collection to s22dcfan@dallascowboyscollectorsguide.com
and title the e-mail, "Super Collector".
Collections will be reviewed and then posted here.
